MM19 Beer Tasting and German Dinner

Humor writer Dave Barry once wrote, "All other nations are drinking Ray Charles Beer and we are drinking Barry Manilow." Fortunately the increased popularity of microbrews over the past 20+ years has vastly improved the domestic beer selection. Join us for beer, food and fellowship on our patio. We will sample a potpourri of quality beers, both imports and American microbrews. We'll gather around 5 pm for appetizers to be followed by German-style food and desert. All courses will be accompanied by beer.

MM21 Authentic Moroccan Dinner

This dinner, featuring all authentic Moroccan recipes, will include appetizers of kefta kebabs, roasted spiced chickpeas, a variety of cured olives and a lemon and orange flower water drink. First course will include a variety of vegetable salads and Moroccan bread with aniseeds and hirissa sauce. Second course will be a choice of lamb tagine. For dessert, you'll have some Moroccan confections with pistachio ice cream and broiled mango and after dessert, you'll have gunpowder green tea with mint and sugar. MM23 Delightful Little Fishies

The entree will again be salmon with caper-anchovy butter. For those who fear anchovies, you don't know what you're missing. These are not the dried up little things one finds on a pizza. Instead they are what creates a rich and interesting sauce. The dessert will be anchovy-free (I promise). For those of you who enjoyed my garlic dinners, you should know that many anchovy dishes contain lots of fresh garlic. Be adventurous. You only live once. 7 pm.

MM26 Vegan Wine Dinner

Join us for a Vegan Wine Dinner hosted by vegan chefs, Barbie and Megan Luna, and wine lovers, Charlie and Margaret Haldeman. If Americans decreased consumption of animal products by 10 percent, both the planet and our collective health would feel the benefits. This dinner event will give you some inspiration for vegan menus. We will gather at the Haldemans' on August 15th at 6:30 pm for vegan specialties (Shiitake and Seitan Lasagna with Pine Nut Cream, perhaps?). Each course will be accompanied by a wine selection from earth-friendly vintners.
